We regret to inform you that SummerFest Beer, Wine & Art Festival benefiting the Alzheimer's Association and Sacramento Memory Walk on Saturday, August 29, 2009 has been canceled due to lack of sponsorship.
Talks with many sponsors revealed a reluctance to commit for 2009 – or to commit to the level they have been giving due to economic hardships. It's a tough year for everyone, no matter what business you are in! We have worked long and hard on SummerFest, but just didn't have a choice but to cancel and look toward 2010.
SummerFest is not gone...we will be back, and we hope you will join us!
SummerFest Beer, Wine & Art Festival benefits the Alzheimer’s Association’s Sacramento Memory Walk. Memory Walk is the Alzheimer’s Association’s national, annual, signature fund raising event, raising more than $220 million since 1989 for research, programs and services.
SummerFest features local Breweries, Wineries, Restaurants, Artists, Silent Auction, and Live Music. The SummerFest Silent Art Auction will feature many of Sacramento’s local artists, as well as items such as weekend getaways, limousine packages, signed collectors items, and more! Bikes are encouraged! Lock your bike in the designated bike corral for safe keeping while you enjoy SummerFest!
SummerFest is a powerful way to demonstrate our commitment to this increasing national and local issue, which currently affects over 220,000 Northern Californians with AD, their caregivers and loved ones.
With the uncertainties of today’s economy and an ever-growing demand for dementia related services we need our communities help now more than ever.
