SummrFest Beer, Wine & Art Festival came to fruition after my year with the Alzheimer's Association planning the 2005 Sacramento Memory Walk. Surprised to see how many really didn't understand what Alzheimer's Disease was, nor know how to get help, support, and knowledge from the Alzheimer's Association, I decided I needed to do more. I wanted to create an event that would educate our generation, create "top-of-mind" awareness of AD, and most of all...be a fun event everyone could look forward to.
I wanted to take my event and marketing skills to another level and help make a difference. Knowing that we could create and execute a successful event that would raise charitable funds, raise awareness and educate the community was very exciting!
And so, SummerFest Beer, Wine & Art Festival was born!
A very rewarding experience, the first SummerFest Beer, Wine & Art Festival raised nearly $9,000 for the Sacramento Memory Walk. It is our hope that this event will grow year after year and become known as the "kick-off" to the Alzheimer's Association's Sacramento Memory Walk Season.
